About

Welcome to Cotton Studio!
My name is Yasué, and I am so glad you’re here. Whether you are a seasoned quilter with decades of experience or a beginner just picking up your first rotary cutter, my goal is to provide you with the high-quality fabrics, notions, and tools you need to bring your creative visions to life.
From the Japanese Countryside to Your Sewing Room
My journey with textiles began in the beautiful countryside of Japan, where I grew up surrounded by vibrant nature and rich traditions that continue to inspire my work today. At just 12 years old, I made my very first quilt, and I was instantly hooked on the creative process. Over the years, that passion grew; I spent my youth not only quilting but also making clothes, deeply immersing myself in the world of crafting, design, and garment construction.
For me, sewing is more than just a hobby—it is a way to connect with tradition, find peace, and express our inner creativity.
The Perfect Pair: Fabric & Patterns
As a designer, I love combining traditional influences with a modern touch. If you are looking for fresh, unique designs to pair with your new supplies, I invite you to visit my sister shop:
Quilt Pattern Studio My dedicated pattern store filled with original quilt designs meant to spark your creativity and bring joy to your stitching. I also have sample quilts for sale.
While Quilt Pattern Studio is where I share my design concepts, this supply store is where I curate the tangible, beautiful materials you need to actually build those dreams, block by block.
Life Beyond the Sewing Machine
When I’m not curating beautiful supplies or drafting new quilt layouts, you can usually find me embracing the things that keep me grounded. I enjoy studying the mindful art of the Japanese tea ceremony, wearing traditional kimonos, meditating, and exploring consciousness and universal laws.
I also believe deeply in community and comfort; I make fidget blanket and memory bears for our local Hospice, and at home, I love nothing more than cuddling with my cats.
Thank you for supporting my shop and letting me be a small part of your creative journey. Let’s source the best materials, embrace the process, and sew something beautiful together!
Warmly,
Yasué
